Manager, IT Platforms and Cybersecurity – Waterloo, Ontario
What you will do…
- Lead and grow a high-performing team of Network, Cloud, and Security Engineers and Analysts through effective recruitment, coaching, and performance management.
- Oversee IT platform operations, ensuring high availability, capacity planning, and lifecycle management for network, cloud, and application infrastructure.
- Drive Cybersecurity strategy and execution, including roadmap delivery, threat detection and response, incident management, and identity/access management.
- Promote security awareness across the organization, supporting a culture of cyber resilience through education, testing, and training initiatives.
- Develop and maintain roadmaps for infrastructure and cloud platforms, aligning with business needs, resilience goals, and future scalability.
- Ensure alignment with ITSM frameworks, managing incident, change, and asset management processes across internal teams and third-party providers.
- Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting by evaluating technology investments, reviewing contracts, and performing cost-benefit analyses.
- Collaborate at the leadership level to align cross-departmental initiatives, support corporate engagement, and represent IT in organizational planning.
What you will bring….
- University degree (Computer Science or a related discipline).
- 10+ years in relevant Technology roles.
- 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of Network and Cloud technologies.
- Experience with Application Management.
- Experience in Vendor Management.
- Experience in leading projects and successfully delivering results.
- Working knowledge of Cybersecurity frameworks, tools, and best practices.
- Demonstrated strength in oral, written and presentation communication skills.
- Experience in Insurance Technology an asset.

Senior Solution Lead – Waterloo, Ontario

Heartland Mutual Insurance has an excellent opportunity in our IT Department for a Senior Solution Lead.
What you will do…
- Translate complex business problems into implementable solution designs.
- Leverage domain expertise in Property & Casualty insurance to ensure solutions meet underwriting, claims, rating, and compliance needs.
- Serve as a liaison between internal business users, IT teams, and third-party vendors to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Lead and support all phases of implementation including planning, deployment, and post-go-live support.
- Manage change requests, release cycles, and production deployments, ensuring minimal business disruption.
- Support vendor technical leads to ensure system design and configuration meet business requirements, and assist internal users by troubleshooting system issues, escalating defects, and recommending process improvements.
- Create test strategies, develop test cases, execute testing, and manage defect resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate system outputs against expected results.
- Lead planning sessions, ensure timely delivery of project milestones, and establish mechanisms for monitoring the success of implemented changes and process stability.
What you will bring…
- 5-10 years’ experience within a Senior Business Analyst and/or Project Lead role.
- 5-10 years’ experience working in the Property & Casualty Insurance Industry in any of the following capacities: Broker/Agent, Underwriting, Claims or Finance.
- Proven ability to create and deliver insurance solutions, specifically with Underwriting workflows and rules; complex rating, coverage, and limit scenarios; policy change transactions; renewals; and cancellations
- Critical thinking skills to recognize assumptions, investigate issues, evaluate arguments, draw conclusions, and proactively propose solutions.
- Experience and perseverance with complex problems, products, and/or integrations
- Process Analysis, Quality Assurance, and Project Management skills and knowledge
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Experience in both Agile and Waterfall project environments.
- Guidewire Policy Center Certification is an asset.
- Proficiency in Guidewire development languages (GOSU, Java) is an asset.
