Claims Representative I –

Heartland Mutual Insurance has an excellent opportunity in our Claims Department for a Claims Representative I.
What you will do…
- Manage a caseload of property claims for customers across Ontario and Nova Scotia.
- Co-ordinate the services of repair vendors, appraisers restoration firms where necessary.
- Ensure that claims are adjusted to the service standards and protocols established by Heartland Insurance.
- Maintain fully documented claims files. Record and store documents to support file activity, and document action plans to support the file direction.
- Ensure that claims losses are mitigated appropriately for Heartland and our client.
- Develop strong customer, broker and vendor relationships through personal accountability.
- Maintain a diary system to ensure completion of outstanding tasks remains on track.
What you will bring…
- Minimum of 1 year of prior multi-line or property claims adjusting experience is an asset.
- CIP designation or willing to pursue.
- Proficient with adjustment practices for most common types of entry-level property claims.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to thrive in a team environment, as well as working independently.
- Must be able to work in office from Waterloo ON or New Minas NS 3 days per week.
